Twin Tier Poultry Club Joint ABA - APA District 2 Meet
Mark your calendar and make your plans now to attend the Twin Tier Poultry club’s 26th annual show September 7th. Do you live in New York, Vermont, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey or the District of Columbia? Then you are in District 2 of either the APA or the ABA.
In addition to hosting these meets we have also secured district meets of the Wyandotte Breeders Club, the Plymouth Rock Fanciers and the National Call Duck Breeders. The Call Duck Breeders meet should be extra special as our show generally attracts no less than 6 of the top Call Duck Breeders in the nation.
We are also pleased to have secured New York State meets of the international Waterfowl Breeders and the North American Hamburg Society as well as special meets of the Old English Game Bantam Club, the Belgian D’Uccle and Booted Bantam club, Cochins International, the Rosecomb Bantam Federation, the International Cornish Breeders, the Belgian Breeders D’Anvers club, the Rhode Island Red Club and a challenge meet of the Old English Game Club. We have numerous other club meets pending and will update you on this in future articles here in the Press.
A great show needs great judges and we’ve got’em. We are pleased to have Troy LaRoche, Paul Monteith and Jamie Carson doing the honors. Additional judges will be secured if needed.
Don’t let the pain at the pump keep you away from a great poultry show. The Twin tier Poultry Club will do its part to help out. Our entry fee continues to be low at $2.00 per bird. We will also once again have our gas money drawing for all entered exhibitors to help offset your expense. And most importantly cash premiums will be well in excess of $1000.00.
Last year’s show was a huge success with over 1100 birds and 109 exhibitors. Rick Hare was the recipient of the first William “Bill” Whitney memorial award for super grand champion of the show.
Last years show had an outstanding class of junior exhibitors. Junior exhibitor’s entries are eligible for both the junior class award as well as the open class.
By September most will be looking to sort out stock and will have birds for sale. Our show has an outstanding reputation for attracting interested buyers willing to pay top dollar. So be prepared to bring your sale birds.
Our show will once again be held at the Steuben County fairgrounds in Bath New York. If you have never exhibited with us you’re probably asking where is Bath New York ? We are located in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes region. The Finger Lakes are noted for their sheer beauty, great fishing, fine dining and top wineries. Just a short drive away is the Corning Museum of Glass and the Glenn Curtiss Museum. Why not make a weekend of it? Show your birds and see our sites. You won’t be disappointed. Visit for more information.
Our region is serviced by the Elmira-Corning regional airport. Local hotels include a brand new Microtel (800-771-7171), the Days Inn (800-329-7466), Super 8 (800-800-8000), and the Budget Inn (607-776-7536).
